Vans will release this line Saturday 29 June online and in select stores across the globe. They’re revamping their staple sneaker silhouettes with a few different print options. This includes all our favs from hightop to slip ons, otherwise known as the Sk8-Hi LX, the OG Authentic LX and the OG Slip-On LX.
Frida Kahlo’s influence is still rampant around the world despite her death in 1954. She’s one of this timeless artists whose work will be endlessly recognizable for decades. More than her artistry, Kahlo was also quite the feminist and activist. So Vans dishing out a Frida Kahlo collection is super exciting. It just goes to show how classic she is and always will be.
The high top pair features Kahlo’s painting Las Dos Fridas, showing Kahlo’s paintings on both sides of the shoe with a forest green contrasting block from the tongue to the toe of the shoe. Their classic lace-up, OG Authentic LX, features Kahlo’s Viva La Vida painting. And it’s super cute and covered in a watermelon print.
