In a massive announcement from music group Untitled, The Drive In, is coming to you very soon – featuring a ridiculously good lineup given the circumstances.
The group has announced nine gigs, featuring some of the biggest names in Aussie music. Joining Client Liaison, Ball Park Music and Lime Cordiale will be Alex Lahey, Winston Surfshirt, Boo Seeka, Running Touch, Northeast Party House and Baker Boy.
The downer is that all the gigs will only take place in Melbourne, with no confirmation if they’ll spread at this scale, into other cities. Probably a good bet starting in Melbourne though, with all of the above gigs taking place at Flemington Racecourse. No doubt to fit in as many cars as possible.
Tickets will set you back $65, which is probably what a normal ticket to most of the above acts would cost if you saw them at a venue. But remember, you have to factor in the extra effort and production required for something like this.
Each gig also has sizeable support too, with London Topaz, Owl Eyes and Set Mo just some of the acts who’ll be joining the bill to kick each gig off.
You can register for early access to tickets here, with pre-sale rego closing on Thursday, June 18th at 3pm AEST – and pre-sale tickets going on sale on Thursday June 18th, 6pm AEST.
They may not be back exactly the way we wanted, crammed into small venues for that intimate vibe. But boy, I’m glad gigs are on their way back.
