Oh, Happy Day! Whoopi Goldberg Says ‘Sister Act 3’ Has Never Been More On And I Feel Blessed

Whoopi really is doing the Lord’s work.

Get out your robes and do your vocal warm-ups, because Sister Act 3 is happening. Hallelujah!

Whoopi Goldberg appeared in an interview with James Corden on The Late Late Show and said that she is working hard to get the sisters of Saint Katherine’s back together.

In the interview, Corden (a self-proclaimed Sister Act stan) took one for the team and asked Goldberg the questions we really wanted to know: Why hasn’t SA3 happened yet? Is it happening? If I put together a choir, would you conduct it? (no, wait, that was my question).

(It only took him an entire interview talking about her garlic-intense lockdown cooking techniques to do it. SMH.)

“For a long time, they kept saying no one wanted to see it,” Goldberg said, “and then quite recently, it turns out, that that may not be true. People may want to see it.”

“So we’re working diligently to try to figure out how to get the gang together and come back.”

Talk about making us feel ‘Joyful, Joyful’.

In Sister Act, Goldberg played lounge singer Deloris Wilson who was sent to a convent after being placed in a witness protection program. While there, she works to transform the struggling choir into neighbourhood and media sensations to save the church.

The nuns loved her so much that they brought her back for Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit to teach a group of students at an inner-city, run-down Catholic school how to sing in a choir.

Basically, Deloris is a guardian angel sent from above to save the world. I can only imagine what she will need to save in Sister Act 3 – will she save another church? a school? or maybe a nightclub? is she going to The Vatican?

Whatever they do, they’ll really be saving the world.

Sister Act 3 is the exact movie that the world needs right now because, as Goldberg said, it’s a pure fun and good vibes.

“It’s just, listen, bad singing, great singing, okay singing and then… nuns. What’s better than that?” she said.

Amen, Whoopi, amen.

And if you want a taste of what SA3 might look like, check out this mini-reunion the sisters had on The View back in 2017. They belted out a version of Peggy March’s ‘I Will Follow Him’ in tribute the film that turned it into an iconic pop culture movie moment.

Bless you, Whoopi, bless you.
